DOT'S DIARIES 2010

Wednesday 9th June

Saw a fox coming home tonight, we were just walking up Fletchley Avenue and he came out of a garden and looked straight at us! It was like he was saying “What are you doing here?” Then he turned round and walked away back into the garden.

He looked ill – his fur was all grey in bits and he walked very slowly.

Mum told me he’d probably got something called “mange” which is an illness foxes get. They pass it on to each other ‘cos it’s a little bug. It makes them die. It’s nice to see foxes in towns but if there are too many it’s an eco-problem ‘cos they have no “predators” to make sure there aren’t too many.

Mum thinks we’ve let too many foxes live in our towns and that’s why that awful thing happened to those babies in London. They’re not scared of us ‘cos we don’t do anything about them. So they’ll get food wherever.
