DOT'S DIARIES 2010

Friday 18th June

THINK I’ve got an idea for our English project doing a bedtime reading book for little ones. It’s not any one of the titles we thought up but I like it, it was Dad’s idea. It’s going to be called ‘Ollie the Octopus and his Tentative Tentacles’!

Liked how it sounded but didn’t know what “tentative” meant till Dad told me it means being a bit scared of what you’re doing or saying, like you can be a bit “tentative” about saying something ‘cos you’re worried it might upset somebody, or you can be a bit “tentative” about doing something ‘cos you’re not sure you’ll get it right.

Like me with maths!!

Anyway Ollie’s “tentative” about his tentacles ‘cos he can’t get them to work properly... they keep tripping him up when he goes along the seabed, or they get tangled up when he swims, or they won’t stick to rocks properly so he can rest. Poor Ollie!

So he… supper!
